Triple threat !

Well, I am in my forth semester now and assignments has proven to get the better of me…But but but, time waits for no one and I shall waste none. ^^ These two weeks has been a great one~ You know why? Lets’ get it started…shall we?

Firstly, I want to proudly announce moocraft has finished the first deal with an Aussie moocraftee! Yeap, moocraft is growing abroad. It is not that I have favouritism for overseas orders, but I am really happy that my work is accepted and being liked by people in other continents, other parts of the world, where the context of culture is different. =) Let’s give a round applause for Paulynz for being the first Aussie moocraftee, and her friend, Isabel too.

Secondly, yeap, you’ve heard the news from moocraft’s facebook page, and it is TRUE!! Oh, for those who haven’t know, moocraft has got its first Etsy moocraftee!!! All the way from USA, and it’s very VERY close to my dream city(or state), New York!!! My sincere gratitude for Joanna from Rhode Island for admiring and purchasing my work. *happy dance* I’ve just posted the parcel today, and man, I wish I can pack myself into the bubble wrap and get posted altogether to US. LOL.

And last but not least, I’ve finally made my new baby – NEX 3, a vintage camera strap, a slip-on one, since I won’t be sticking to just one design when I can change it up according to my mood and occassions! Life is so much better when there are optionss, isn’t it? ^^

IMG_1895

This suede fabric has always been my favourite, but it is running out real soon, and the shop where I got it from isn’t selling it anymore… =(

IMG_1897

A slip-on cover, so you can take it out, wash it and best of all, change to different designs all the time. ^^

IMG_1902

The texture of the fabric is rich ,and rare too, with the beautiful combination of suede and woven base.

Two pockets on each side, for lens caps storage as well as memory cards. So lefties and righties, fred not, this strap is designed for both of you!

IMG_1911

So pretty… LOL

IMG_1924

And the best thing? It is very comfy to have it around your neck~ Myself was really suprised and am loving it! ^^ my apology for the messy background *wink wink*

Haha, with so many great stuff going on, I would like to extend my most hearty gratitude to you guys! Let it be moocraft’s blog reader, facebook fans or purchasers, you guys are the reason moocraft is thriving and getting better~ Thank you!

Until next time.

All my scars are open…

So many thoughts are racing through my mind lately, more than ever. For those who knew me, you’ll probably know I rarely stuck an earphone to my ear, because I believe the noise of your surrounding keeps me grounded. But now, I have nowhere to hide from my thoughts other than behind the loud music banging on my eardrum.

Lately, things are happening fast and aplenty. Having winning the camera of my dream is the best thing that have happen to me, and all because I saw a chance and I took it. As if the world suddenly opened up and so many opportunity came up. One of which is a job that came to B.

It’s a part-time job and a little resembles the direct-sale. I know what you’re thinking, but I am sure this is different. I just know, and I am speaking on my clear conscious. I know if this is done in the right way, I might just support myself, my tuition fee, my everything.

Truth be told, things haven’t been easy for everyone, especially financially, and for the first time in my life, I am picking myself up, taking matters into my hands. For goodness sake, I am already 20, how much more should I burden my family, especially dad? And so, I decided to take upon this job and things have been harsh ever since.

I have been working on moocraft, and studies…and with this new job, my mind is being straint to the limit. And I have never ask for help unless it is utterly necessary. Most of the time, I’ll just solve it myself. And thank god, till now, things have been easy enough to be solved by myself all along. But now, all these requires me to almost bend down on my knee, and spare most of the dignity left in me. Still, life gives me lemon.

I am breaking down every day, but still, in the end, I’ll pick myself up, patch up whatever holes there are and there goes another day. I manage to keep myself together with just one belief, this hardship will be just a breeze compared to the sweet lifetime reward that comes after the hardship…And so, I fight on…

However still, it leaves me wonder, will I be able to keep it together until that day arrives? How much more lemonade can I make until my mind and body give in?

Funny as it seems, I’ll never know, but I am sure I don’t want to ever regret looking back and say “I should have fought longer.”

A PC Fair and a love story~

Well, if you’ve been reading my blogsite for a while by now, you’d probably know I hadn’t have such a good memory left from the previous fair. This time, it’s the second PC Fair in KL, and nonetheless, I was there, despite the heartaches and -breaks…

This time, B & I didn’t intend to buy anything, were just trying to keep ourselves updated with the current price of the gizmos and stuff. So, we skimmed through those booths and stalls comparably fast this time. Until, B drag me to one side, pointing at a big plasma screen. It read “Win a Sony NEX 3 by telling us what’s so special about it and how it enchances the photo taking experiece”. All I see is the most beautiful machine there, waiting for an owner. I’ve never, and I mean NEVER, believe in these promotional stunt, because no one EVER wins…But still, I participated anyway, partly because I’d do anything for a NEX 3 and somewhere in the far corner of my mind, urging myself to challenge the odds.

And so, I type in what I thought about it, and with it behind my mind, we left the fair. It’s Sakae Sushi for lunch later on, and boy, I am outdated! They actually have a hot water tap at every table, just so you don’t need to wave down a busy, annoyed waitress for a green tea refill! Oh, did I mention, you can order your food directly from a computer beside your table??? How convenient is that?! Oh, and with the conveyor of sushi going around, I practically wanted to eat everything! Can you feel that I’m all hyped up about it? LOL…

IMG_1770

This is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!

IMG_1771IMG_1774

This ‘mouse’ was too big for the hole…I’m guessing too much sushi?? ^^

This book is really not bad…I’ll get it later on…a good read…

IMG_1782

Hello~ assignments…Dear classmates, you feel the heat? LOL

After lunch, we walked around KLCC for a bit, B stopped by the usual Sony Centre (he always walk into gadget store…it’s like how I always walk into Padini or something…) and I immediately made a bee-line for the NEX camera counter…I grab hold of the NEX 3 like a hungry lion, despite the other people hanging around the area. LOL. And I just toyed with it for a full 15 minutes. The sales person wanted to attend to me, but then he’d given up, probably I seem to be of no need for assistance. And with unwilling heart, we left the shop and moved on….Oh, did I mention that I almost died when I saw a girl holding a NEX 3 camera right outside the convention centre…I squeezed B’s palm so hard that I swear if B’s hand breathes, I’d suffocated it by then.

IMG_1783

I remember when I was talking picture of this with my faithful Canon, I was thinking “how I wish I could just go home with one of these?” …

IMG_1785[4]

… and I remember myself looking back when I was on my way out, hoping to catch a sight of the cashier counter, looking for someone purchasing a NEX as well, just so I can imagine what it feels like to bring one home…pity, isn’t it?

Eventually, the day rolled by and there was I, back to school for another blue Monday…. “wait!!! where’s the love story??” you asked? Well, read on~ ^^

Sitting in the cafeteria in the morning, while waiting for class to start at 8am, I went online to burn some boredom and time. Oh, why not just take a look at the winner of NEX 3, I thought..At least I’ll know which lucky fella won it, whom of which wouldn’t never be me…And so, I loaded the page, and right before it finished loading, the page blinked for a fraction of a second and to my surprise, I saw my name on that page!!!! I hold myself down to the seat and waited for it to display the whole page…And I saw a big NEX 3 picture (a beautiful, sleek black NEX 3, by the way) and my name on it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s the love story~ I fell in love with a camera, namely NEX 3 three weeks ago, when it was first put on display in Timesquare and now, it’s cuddling safe and sound in my arm! This can NOT be a love story more worth telling…I still couldn’t believe this was true, I got really REALLY lucky…

nex 3!!!

Do you see my name, “tescokiki”??? *happy dance*

winner!

This is my post entry~

IMG_1790

B & I went to redeem it right after school ! You know, I couldn’t afford a “just-in-case”…

IMG_1791IMG_1792IMG_1794

Da-box~

IMG_1804

Look just like a new-born baby, doesn’t it?

IMG_1806

Here' you go, my new love…*wink wink*

IMG_1808

One happy family : B & I, doco-mon, Canon and Nex baby…LOL…I am losing it, ain’t I?

Well, this PC Fair certainly didn’t break my heart for a change…And just to make it clear, my good old Canon is still here, lovely as usual ( did I personalise my every camera?? man, I AM losing it…)  but here’s the thing…With Canon, I can capture pictures of object being in their most beautiful state, and with NEX 3, I get to present my story of the object…Canon and NEX for me, is like make-up artist and a good story-teller, one makes the most beautiful out of people while the other tells the most amazing story of people, and sometimes, story of himself too…I am truly blessed… ^^

I’ll put up some pictures captured with NEX 3 later on, and until then, tata~

With love,

KC

Here’s something I’d like to share…

From moocraft :

I found this post on one of the craft review site, and found this post can never be more truthful, and more meaningful to me, just like how moocraft meant a world to me. It puts the mind state of people buying handcraft items into critical analysis, and reinstate the reason why buying and selling handcraft is a work of art. ^^ read on, it’s an inspiring fresh piece.

“I have a friend, who told me that she only bought a major brand of jewelry when it was on super sale, not to save money, but because she knew it was going to break eventually anyway. Not because she was rough on her jewelry, but because she knew the craftsmanship wasn't there...after all it was produced in a factory overseas, by workers who were focusing on quantity, not quality.

Why do I bring this up? Because it presents one of the first reasons for buying handmade goods. Let me clarify that just because something is made by human hands, it is not necessarily "handmade" in spirit. When an independent artisan creates a piece, whether is be jewelry, a book, clothing, furniture, and whatever falls between, there is a relationship between artist and creation. Where you have this relationship and the love and care that goes in to a handmade good, you are also getting the pride of quality that goes with it. There are many items that are still created by hand--but in factory settings where that relationship is not allowed to flourish, and where quality suffers.

Buying handmade has become something of a trend lately. People are finally proud to state that they buy handmade goods. But the reasons to buy handmade go far beyond the trends. Most mass-produced goods are made overseas, and their sale largely benefits other countries. By purchasing handmade goods, especially by area artisans, you can easily help benefit your neighbors and local economy. If I have a good show, I will take that money and be able to spend it at the local markets and stores, hopefully helping other local merchants.

I've had people, friends even, tell me that buying handmade is too expensive. However, when you begin to realize that items become disposable because you can not count on mass-produced items to have a decent life, the amount of money wasted quickly adds up. It is almost always better financially to invest in a few quality items than to repeatedly purchase replacements. And while it is true that a local artist is going to demand more per hour than an overseas factory worker, we are now seeing the true cost of the "cheap global production" mentality as job loss and economic depression are now constant companions in the U.S.

However, my favorite reason to buy handmade is simple. I love to buy goods that were created from inspiration, by another person who felt the passion to create. I have never been someone to want what everyone has, and am always on the lookout for the unusual and unique. You will only truly find the unique when you look at small-scale production that only an independent artist or small collective can provide. Unique and mass-produced are oxymorons at heart.

What are your reasons for buying handmade? ”

Busy week…

From moocraft :

College have started this week, and moocraft hasn’t shown signs of slowing down, which is a good thing for me, since I can still have good excuses to escape the cruel ‘have-to-study’ reality…Sometimes, and I mean, MOST of the time, I am so glad that I started moocraft, despite all the unknowns to me, in the cyber world of trading…I am glad because it feels good to have something that makes you wanna work your ass off! *there, i said it* ^^ it wouldn’t have made it without your support, my moocraftees~ So, thank you!

Well, as for the first week of school, I made two pouches for Cecilia, and two pencil cases & one bookcover for Paulynz~ Let’s start with Cecilia’s.

300720101718300720101719

Given a theme “Faith, Hope, Love” & Music, I sketched up two designs for Cecilia, she decided to go ahead with the first design, which is my personal fave too…

IMG_1726

Ta-dah! The finally product~

IMG_1731IMG_1734IMG_1736IMG_1738IMG_1739IMG_1740IMG_1741

One of my fave shot of the pouch, a little poetic, don’t you think?

IMG_1742

Cecilia ordered an Elmo pouch too, but requested for a pair of button & loop

IMG_1744

I added a button made of coconut shell…I love these, each grain on the button is unique, the one and only…

IMG_1745IMG_1746IMG_1748

Well, here’s a stop for this post. I’ll update Paulynz’s post as soon as possible. As for now, I’ll start working on a S-P-O-N-G-E-B-O-B pouch, all the Spongebob fans, stay with me~ ^^

With love,

KC
